01 / How it works

How a robot waiter works in a busy restaurant

Staff load the trays in the kitchen or at the pass, choose a table number on the screen, and the serving robot finds its own way there using its map of your venue. Sensors help it navigate around customers, chairs and staff, and once guests have taken their dishes it returns for the next run.

  1. 01 Load at the pass Staff load the trays in the kitchen or at the pass and choose a table number on the screen.
  2. 02 Finds its own way The robot follows its map of your venue, using sensors to steer around customers, chairs and staff.
  3. 03 Guests collect Guests take their dishes from the trays, and the robot is ready for its next run.
  4. 04 Clears and returns The same robot can clear plates back to the kitchen, cutting the trips your team makes each shift.

Restaurant robots like these suit cafés, family restaurants, buffets, hotel restaurants and banqueting, as well as canteens and care homes where meals need delivering regularly.

More time with guests

Your team can focus on taking orders, upselling and looking after customers.

The robot keeps food moving when you're a person down.

Something guests notice

Robot waiter FAQs

Ask about your venue

Our serving robots start from £11,250 + VAT, and the DINERBOT T10 is £15,750 + VAT. Installation and service plans are quoted separately depending on your venue.

Often, yes. The T10 can pass through gaps as narrow as 59cm, and the T11 is designed for narrow aisles. We'll check your layout during a site visit before recommending a model.

No. A robot server takes on the carrying, so your staff can spend their time on the parts of service that need a person.

KEENON quotes 9 to 12.5 hours for the DINERBOT T10, depending on use and settings.

Yes, serving robots have several trays and can deliver to multiple tables on a single run.

Our UK engineers carry out onsite diagnostics and repairs, and planned servicing helps prevent faults in the first place.

According to KEENON, the T8 and T11 carry 20kg in total, while the T9 and T10 carry 40kg.

Yes. The T10 has a 23.8" advertising screen and the T11 an 18.5" display, and both can play your own images and videos.

The T9 can return to its charger on its own at the end of a shift. Charging options vary by model, so we'll set up the right arrangement for your venue.

Yes. KEENON supports multi-robot coordination, so several DINERBOTs, including a mix of models, can share the same floor without getting in each other's way. This suits larger restaurants and venues with separate dining areas.

KEENON rates the T10 and T11 for slopes of up to 5 degrees, and the T9 uses a shock-absorbing chassis to keep trays steady over small bumps. Steps and steeper ramps need a different route, which we plan during mapping.

The robots use LiDAR and stereo vision sensors to detect people, chairs and other obstacles, slowing or rerouting as needed, and each has an emergency stop button. On the T10, KEENON describes 360-degree recognition from four stereo vision sensors, VSLAM and an RGB camera.

Clockwork Robotics is the authorised UK distributor for KEENON Robotics, supplying and servicing the full DINERBOT range.

Yes. KEENON offers call buttons as an accessory for the T10, so staff or guests can summon the robot to a table or station, and tasks can be tracked remotely through the app.
